Addiction & Recovery
Related: About this forumTo anyone new to recovery, it really does get better! Trust me.
I've only been sober for a couple years. And I occasionally have urges, especially on weekends while cooking dinner. But the urges seem to be going away. It was a lot worse when I first gave up drinking. So hang in there. If I can do it, you can too!

Got busy working, going back to college and staying away from those wet places and wet faces. Hang in there it gets better, way better.

(9,691 posts)My son is clean almost 5 years now. He had to move far away (PA to FL) to get away from the people here that kept getting him back in the life. There he met his soon-to-be wife, got a great job and theyre buying a house. Every day you put it that much further behind you.
