listen up y'all, after hearing, maybe watching the videos from the too close a call to murders in our Capitol, be gentle with yourself this night and weekend.
-don't under eat or over eat
-don't use
-don't drink
-don't rage at others
-don't do the maladaptive behaviors we use to mute our feelings.
-do drink an extra glass of water to rehydrate from crying
-call a friend
-call your sponsor
-don't forget to wash your face, brush your teeth and moisturize tonight.
added.....pet and cuddle your furries, your human beloveds if you can.

(14,595 posts)No matter how long I've been clean and sober, it's healthy for me to take suggestions from others with humility and gratitude. That helps to keep me grounded.
Some others that help me are...
* Do a periodic gratitude list and express gratitude to someone in my life today.
* When something is repeatedly bothering me, write it down thoroughly so it's exposed to sunshine.
* Try to avoid criticism of other people (unless it's my job to do so). I was taught that uninvited criticism is just a way for me to feel like I'm better than others.
