Drunks sure can be exhausting!

We had some friends for dinner last night. One couple left around ten o'clock. My wife and the other couple were on an alcohol-fueled roll. They kept yapping away. Finally, around 11:15 I went up to bed. They ended up staying until 12:30. In my drinking days, I would have been the last to retire. I most likely would have stayed up another hour drinking and watching tv that would be a blur in the morning. Thank god those days are over!

out at the Eagles lodge and drink beer all the time. Too much free time wasn't good for me or my wallet. I never planned on quitting permanently.

For a while I hung out there with the boys anyway. That was okay, but after pounding beers for a while, my buddies got drunker and louder, and I wasn't on the same trip. It wasn't the same.

As a young adult my dream was to own a little bar some day. Then I got a job at a beer distributor. Delivering to the bars that opened early clued me in. It would be more like having drunks in your home all day every day. No thanks.
