My better half is out of town for five days

In the old days, it would have been an excuse to really get hammered. And then, the day before she came home, I would put all the empties into a bag and take them to a dumpster behind the grocery store and get rid of the evidence.

And during the first couple years of getting sober, it would nag at me the whole time. I've been clean for almost 5 1/2 years and starting about 6 or 7 months ago, I pretty much quit thinking about booze. Instead, this is an excuse to eat crappier food than I do when my wife's at home.

So for all you who are new to cleaner living, there's hope! If I can do it, you can too. Hang in there!

What junk food are you planning for the 5 day food binge? Hope it includes onion rings!

Potato pancakes and sour cream beats the hell out of a case of beer and a couple bags of potato chips.
