Drunks sure can be boring!

Had my B-I-L and S-I-L and a family friend over for dinner the other night. They were drinking and I was sober. Talk about some boring conversations! Five hours of sleep-inducing blather. The highlights of the evening were a discussion of roofing shingles and a lengthy description of the friend's interactions with the quality control inspector at her workplace!!! Wow! Maybe it would have been more interesting if I was drinking.

believe they’re witty.

I’d be thinking, “Pass out, already . . . “

They ramble on about nothingness. An act as if they are the coolest people on earth. Alcohol is an arrogance inducer.

It is difficult coping with a whole family of drunks, especially when they get together. It would’ve been easier to stay drinking but I’m so glad I quit more than 20 years ago. Wouldn’t trade that clarity for anything in the world.
