The election has almost driven me to start drinking again.

But I can weather this. Days filled with painting. And evenings with pleasant tv viewing and bowls of ice cream will get me through this. I'm 6 years in and I'm not going to let a total piece of shit like Dementia Donnie get to me.

I am petrified that I won’t be able to maintain sobriety under XC. I’ll be damned though if I allow that cretin to ruin my life more than he already has. I had life plans that he has already crushed for now.

Don’t let him make you stumble, he isn’t worth it and I think he will keel over from a heart attack soon anyway. Plus we all have to be strong to be good soldiers in the resistance! And I like seeing your paintings, and it would suck if you stopped painting.

Whatever support you have, make full use of them.

The last year has been very difficult for me, lots of triggers. I can honestly say though, that picking up a drink has not been a temptation. But I have many more years. I just have to remember what it was like. No way, no how would I allow the world's assholes to take away from me the thing that has kept me alive and kicking.

You're on the right path, keep going! And congrats.
