today I am a happy man

the surgeon went over the operation today during the post op appointment.

He told us that there was no more cancer in my wifes digestive system components, that it was
"world class" surgery and that my wifes name has been attached to a very successful operatory
procedure.

She spent 7 hours on the table during which they removed the right half of her liver, her gall bladder,
a large section of her bile duct and several small margins of same. They connected her bile duct to
her small colon for drainage and sewed her up. They did remove some lymph nodes for biopsy and they
came back clean along with those several margins I mentioned.

She is now 14 days post op and just beginning to get a little appetite up, she's doing small physical therapy,
and we're doing a bit more on our own.

The relief I feel is enormous, and if she was awake right now I think she'd agree with me.

Although I think we are out of the woods I am going to keep checking into this sub forum, I love you guys.
You helped me through a dark, dark period of my life. It won't be forgotten. Good luck, good wishes and my
own prayers to all of you.

They have come so far with surgery and interventions. I know how it feels to get the 'all clear' after cancer surgery for both myself and other family members.

It's an awesome feeling - like you can finally breath again.

Celebrate!

she's still tired and healing but we take walks every now and then for exercise. today we'll walk half a block to the post office and back.

She's eating a little more each day according to the chart furnished by the surgeons, still no alcohol or raw celery.

The disability folks are starting to pester her about going back to work, are they nucking futz??????? 8 hours at a desk in front of puter just isn't going to work at this time. Hell, the stitches haven't come out yet and there are a bunch of them to boot.

I read this group daily, my heart goes out to each and every one of you. Karynin, my best thoughts go in your direction and I hope you
begin healing very quickly.

Peace and strength to you all. OTC
