John and I did some normal things this week

John felt well enough to take some pictures of things to put on eBay. Before his diagnosis, we had things on eBay every week for the last several years. (Our hobby) He was feeling well enough that we had both grandkids over and watched them for 4 hours. Up until his diagnosis, we watched both kids several days a week, and stopped when John got the feeding tube and port and weekly chemo. It just felt so darned good. The doctor recently reduced the strength of the chemo by 25%, because of the severe side effects. John will be on chemo until the middle of Oct. and be assessed for the need of radiation the end of Oct. Hoping that we can enjoy more normals as time and treatment goes on. Our grandkids can't wait until Grandpa 'gets his pipes out'

Doing normal things can make you feel so good! My chemos would each require a few days spent mostly in bed, just tired. I would recover as the cycle went on, so I would cook a pot of chicken soup and freeze it in containers. And I'd prep a few sewing projects, and then I could work on those when I felt up to it, all while watching Star Trek: The Next Generation on BBC America.
I completed my chemo, just had my mastectomy, and will almost definitely be starting my radiation in a week or two. John will get to the end of this! I do feel it's important to always keep sight of what makes you happy and to sneak some of it in whenever possible.
