I was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma yesterday.
Never had cancer of any kind. The skin tag was removed. About the size of a nickel. But protruded about 1/4 of an inch. It was painful to touch and I kept hitting it on furniture and bed posts. I was so glad the dermatologist removed it. I will probably have to have more cut away after testing confirms. Needless to say I was frightened and still nervous about it.
But I did laugh on my way to town today. As soon as I turned on the car radio to listen to some relaxing classical music, Chopin's Funeral March started playing. I do have a dark sense of humor and in some way I think maybe it was the gods playing a joke on me. But it did make me laugh and hum to the main theme. Da da da dum da da da
da dum da dee.

A good sense of humor, however dark, is as effective as medicine in these cases. All the best, and I'm sure you will triumph over the carcinoma...such a pretty word for such an ugly affliction.

I found that helped when I had cancer.
But if you listen to Chopin, maybe listen to this instead. I think Rubenstein is a little better at it.

won't know exactly until test results. I have a friend or two who have had the same diagnosis and were very encouraging.
Surgeon was amazing! Mine was about the size of a dime. Once they got it all I did not need any more treatment. When I asked how to prevent in the future, their answer was (paraphrasing) "Most exposure that causes this type happened when you were a kid."
I wish you a good recovery and hope no more surfaces.
