Wifey just showed me the drug bills for THIS year to treat her MDS

So far the costs have been 32K, with insurance picking up all but 9,000 of it. Thank goodness for that, but I still have to think of those developed countries without a For Profit Health Industry. We, as a country, should be doing so much better.

is now in the medical device field. Years ago she told me that companies like Bayer, and Pfizer, Merck, Novartis, all have factories in India, China, and other countries. For an example, it may cost them 4 dollars to make a bottle of pills that costs 84 dollars in America. That's just a mild example.

I remember when Bernie Sanders was pushing for buying drugs in Canada and Republicans argued against it because of safety concerns, The pills were coming from India and China regardless. I just had to check on a blood pressure pill that I take that was manufactured in Mexico, it wasn't my lot.

Mostly for meds, and the administration thereof. She may be moving to a cheaper drug (the more costly one is no longer working - and she has developed arthritis related to her disease which is better treated by an older drug). Unfortunately the older one has an increased cancer risk (on top of the half-dozen cancers her disease puts her at risk for).

Earthfare, Starbucks, and now Amazon. Dirt cheap, and they have covered all but $2-3,000 of her bills.
