Cancer Support
Related: About this forumI'm in the ER for a possible strangulated hernia.
It has been around since my cancer surgery last year, but Ive never had the pain and vomiting before like I had last night and now. Its an incisional hernia that was not in the rads field. Waiting on the results of the CT scan with contrast. A previous scan showed it at 7.5cm in August, and 11.1 in October.
Prayers and good thoughts for a thorough diagnosis and treatment would be much appreciated.

(113,131 posts)but with a little luck and whatever has replaced GoreTsx, most hernias can be repaired.
But OUCH. I hope it happens soon, is successful, and you're out of the hospital in a few days. Mostly, I hope you're getting the good drugs now. You need them.

(2,112 posts)I survived the same thing 6 years ago. The operation was a piece of cake for me, but not so much for the surgeon and anesthesiologist.

(12,317 posts)Since it was an emergency, they couldnt put a mesh in and said Ill need to be in the lookout for it to happen again. Once it heals I should consult another surgeon to install a mesh.
If everything continues to go well, I should be released sometime in te next 2 days.
