I am so very sorry you have to face this again. At my age (74 soon), I would do nothing, but support and encourage you whatever you do.

Same thing with my sister. Had a breast removed and 5.5 years later had reoccurrence on other side.

That was in 2014 as well. Has had 2 sites more and they told her she had 6 months in early 2016. She’s still here and kicking along. Try not to let the bastards get you down.

I could get my cousin to review the slides (he’s a pathologist). But I think I’ll wait until I know what the treatment might be. If it seems unreasonable, I’ll definitely take your advice.

I have a friend who is approaching 20 years clean after 3 separate treatments over 12 years.

So sorry to hear you qre going through this again!

I just hit 5 years since I had treatment. What is the plan going forward? You should have your choice of good doctors in California. I'm sorry you have to go through this again. It is all consuming. I'm sending white light to you. I wish I could do more.

I’ll get treatment in Chicago. My home is there, and most of my support systems.

What can you do? Fight it. Win it. Live your best life every minute.

I’ll be going back to IL March 8 and appointments follow. Most of my support is there.

I’’m trying.

I was diagnosed with uterine cancer in 2013 -- hysterectomy, chemo, radiation, the whole works.

It came back in 2017 and I had another round of chemo. And it returned again in 2019, with no chemo left to try. But a new immunotherapy treatment had been developed in the meantime, and I qualified for it.

It's now 2023 - ten years since my original diagnosis - and I am cancer-free. So far. I have my semi-annual CT scan scheduled next month.

All that you can do is live. Every year new treatments come along, miraculous treatments. All you have to do is continue to live your life until science catches up with you. And enjoy that life while you have it!

I’m so glad they found an immunotherapy that has worked! We just do the best we can, and keep on going. Stay well!

My sister’s was caught early and she will have a lumpectomy and then determine the next steps. I must say, however, that navigating the health care system for the diagnosis and preparation for her surgery has been a complete nightmare. I have a stinking suspicion that if this were a “man” thing, there wouldn’t be nearly as much stress and logistics. Her oncologist has been very kind, but we met with her surgeon today and he was aloof and hurried. Yes, I know. Surgeons aren’t known for their bedside manner but good grief!

The day I found out I had a recurrence, I ended up at Urgent Care. Turned out I also had pneumonia. It worked out that I couldn’t get to the surgeon or oncologist for a few weeks, which let me get over the pneumonia.

I had a really wonderful surgeon the first go round, but he’s retired. My first oncologist was a nice young man, but he didn’t listen well. This time I’m starting with an entirely different team. (My previous oncologist is out of town, on the very dates I’m able to be there.)

I hope it all goes well with your sister. I also hope her surgeons arrogance is well earned. The good news is that the most important time she’ll spend with him, she’ll be sleeping.
