i try not to think of myself as a sick person. that powers me through often.
and then there are days like today, where several days of hard work (laying tile) has my back to the wall.
i did a few things that needed to be done today. now i am gonna take a damn nap.
at 62, it seems more like i am normal, just old. but i am pretty sure i could tough out old age a lot better than this.
i hate fibro.

(6,986 posts)Trying constantly to be thankful for what I do have, my mind, my family, my pets. It could be so much worse I keep telling myself. I have found that no medicine for my issues of neuropathy and sciatica degenerative disc problems, hypothyroid issues has really helped except for the thyroid meds I take to control my goiter. It is something that I try to put on the back burner and find homeopathic help.

I hope that you will find some relief and you're soon back to feeling better
Take care!

(39,356 posts)A slight increase in dosage and a day spent in the sun when I'm supposed to avoid it due to meds and disease, knocked me down for three full days.

(5,240 posts)will probably need to be on oxygen for the rest of his life. I can see how emotionally and physically hard it is for him and it breaks my heart. He is (was) an avid wood worker and wood turner, he can fix anything, he is always busy doing at least one project. Within a month he lost 25 pounds and could barely stand up. He has made some improvement, but he will never be the active man he once was. Chronic illness is a bitch.

(6,986 posts)Wish you and your husband the best. I can relate. My husband can build anything he puts his mind to but now he has fallen a couple of times and is near 70. He has to slow down but for him that is a big hurdle as he is always trying to overcome his issues. I try to keep his mind on other things. Sometimes I think the meds they give us older folks makes us worse then better. Take care!
