Glad my insurance covers it.
I am overweight but I try to avoid added salt. I never touch the salt shaker and so far the medicine is keeping it in check.

2. I started getting HBP readings in mid40s....

125+/ 90-100 or so. On the advice of my GP, I dropped about 35 pounds from 200 to 165, and Ive maintained 165-170 ever since. I watch carbs mostly. I havent had a high reading in over five years. Dr said dropping even just a few pounds can make a big difference.

by numbers such as 120/80

where the top number is systolic and the bottom number is diastolic

without medication. But it should improve. If they didn’t give you any meds, that’s probably a good sign.

Actually, too much working out could keep it elevated, at least in short run.

Again, talk to your doc because most of us here are only posting based on personal experience. And remember, well controled hypertension is not usually a big deal if you keep it controlled and monitored. You’d be surprised how many people are on BP meds, including me.
