Had my gallbladder out 16 days ago

Been suffering from gas and left-sided abdominal pain for months. Dr thought i was constipated. I knew i wasnt. Then gi nurse suggested HIDA scan and had one in the hospital. Bad gallbladder, so out it came. A week later. Pain THE EXACT SAME PAIN started again with stomach rumbling

Saw surgeon today. He was blase. 4 incisions looked good. I pressed him about recurring pain restartimg. He was blase. Said 6 weeks post, then well know its not my gallbladder.

I'm pissed. I want an MD gi specialist at an in person visit

'Abdominal pain on the left side can be caused by diverticulitis, gas or indigestion, appendicitis, kidney stones, or a hernia.'

the same area; some doctors just don't LISTEN! I sure hope you find a good doctor and get the problem resolved.

So that might have been very real and necessary, but the gallbladder is on the right side, right?

Left side is different set of organs! As I'm sure you know!

I don't want to go into too much detail, but I had a similar event. They did so many tests and found several things it was good they found, but none of them were causing the pain that took me to the doctor. I felt so unheard! It was extremely frustrating.

It turned out to be something that can be treated very easily with GasX. Who knew? Just a little tight corner where a tiny bubble can get stuck and I feel like I'm being knifed to death. Huge relief, but it took 10 months for an answer!

I hear this more and more frequently from my friends. Not being heard. Leaving the dr's office feeling like a hypochondriac, or like they think you are one. Having other things treated but what took us into the doctor is still there. And it's scary when we have pain--I don't know about you, but my imagination goes wild.

Best wishes in finding someone, being able to make an appointment, and getting an answer. You are FAR from alone!

I had my gall bladder removed and experienced the same severe pain in the exact same location with the exact same non-stop vomiting. After 4 weeks of misery I was readmitted to the hospital & they found "left over" gall stones blocking bile duct. Hope someone listens to you.
