So , this doctor was being interviewed on the radio about his new book,

and he makes the comment that half the people that come to see a doctor have nothing physically wrong with them, that the pain or digestive distress etc is caused by something wrong in their personal lives. And of course, this is why more women than men turn up at a doctor's office.

What's with these guys who think if they can't figure out what's going on, it means nothing is happening? It's the same kind of willlful ignorance that once taught that the appendix and tonsils were useless organs!

have been patted on the head and offered Valium instead of an EKG that would have turned up the real problem.

If they survived the trip to the ER, then I'd get them. By that time they were deathly ill and many survived to be cardiac cripples because some damned doctor thought all women were emotional wrecks and couldn't be arsed to do his job.

Doctors like this guy need to be out of medicine.
