The author is Frederic Delavier. They are chock full of descriptions and illustrations, and discuss free weights, machines, bands, body weight exercises, etc.
I took one to the gym, and the manager ordered all of them for the gym library.
I have no financial or other interest in any of the products of the author mentioned above.
update. I ordered/rec'd 3 of the books. All are good, some better than others. The gym managerordered/rec'd everything Amazon had
from Delavier, and has already had one stolen.
Sometimes I do not understand people.

(4,243 posts)Do you have a link that might have a synopsis? I only ask because it's getting close to outdoor running season here and I'm starting to use some light weights to train with. I've been wondering if I should use free weights or Nautilus. I'm not talking about anything strenuous, just enough to keep me in shape until I can get back outside.

(620 posts)gym, and entered it in the search block at Amazon.com. There is a synopsis for each, along with reviews by users.
I use free weights and machines. I prefer dumbbells, and I don't go heavy. I've discovered that as I age (I'm 70), injuries take much longer to heal.
My this-year goal is to be able to enter the physique competition of body-building contests, but right now master's divisions usually stop at age 50, and I'm not quite ready to compete with those youngsters.
Thanks for the welcome.
