mental health support group statement of purpose

welcome to the mental health support group. we endeavor here to create a safe place where people can talk about mental illness and how it is affecting their lives, whether it is their own illness or that of a loved one or friend. a place where mental illnesses are to be treated as authentic medical illnesses. a supportive haven for discussion and information sharing about mental health issues, which may include personal experiences, or news and information regarding mental health support, research, and/or treatment.

we hope to keep this space free from stigmatizing and invalidating language about mental illness and the mentally ill, and hope everyone will give consideration to minimizing triggering or exacerbating the symptoms of persons who may read the forum. in light of the addition of social media buttons, posters are both reminded not to share personal information that they would not want read by those outside this forum, as always, but also as a part of the safe haven offered in this group we ask that posts here NOT be shared without the express permission of the poster.

what this group is NOT is a substitute for real life mental health care. we know it can be therapeutic to find people who can relate to you when you are suffering from a mental illness or emotional distress, and that’s why we are here. but no one here can be counted on to provide professional care.
if you are considering suicide, please go to the nearest emergency room immediately. if you don’t have the means to get there on your own, please dial 911. if you find yourself waiting for help, please dial 1-800-sui-cide.

What else can I say.
And you?
How are things with you dear Mo?
Hanging in and hanging on here.
She called today and said she thought she should come home
because she was running out of medication... that is a good thing, as you know.
I keep a candle lit 24/7 for her, because it helps me feel the ancestors will
protect her.
The best I can do at the moment.
Hope things are peaceful in your world!

and..
middle child is doing pretty well. stable, having anxiety problems, and starting to try to address them.
but now my baby (18yo) has been suffering from anxiety and depression. i need to write something up about that one. she is doing well, but, well, it is a trial. she was always our happy little bright spot.

I can barely handle the one...
So sorry to hear about your youngest.
Sounds like she may be pre-serious condition.
That's about the age it hit mine.
She just turned 25 and I am hopeful that
she is beginning to understand that it is manageable.
Proud that she recognized running out of meds was
not a good thing and decided to come home.
HUGS!~
I'm so glad this group is here for the holidaze.
Together, we will get through it.

Depression & Anxiety are the worst diseases which can make a person to do suicide. He/she lose everyone faith and starts living lonely. It may happen due to someone he/she lost or due to some misshapening. I would recommend to join mental health classes online and mental health continuing education courses written by experts in the mental health field.

I'm going to kill myself.

I don't know where to turn. I don't know what to do.

I'm tired of the continuous cycle of hope and failure that is my life.

I have nothing left to live for. I have no family. I have no friends. I have nothing.

And i don't know what else to do.
