Related: About this forumIt's been a rough ten days
I am overwhelmed and am crying easily. My LTD insurance is doing its review to keep getting my payments. This is laborious paperwork, and I had to pay $100 fee today for one doctor to fill it out. We did it during my session. It's been chaos, running around to print said forms out. Worried I'm getting the insurance company the right info in time.
Now I realized I forgot to put the COBRA company's address on the registered mail green card. I have a hard time concentrating. I did put my return address, and the envelope has the COBRA company's address. I keep tracking it, its in transit. It's been 5 days since mailed. I hope there's not a delivery problem bc I'm an idiot.
It's so overwhelming

(10,388 posts)This lack of concentration, ability to complete a task is part of your disability
Dont beat yourself up for it!
Do you have a contact person at the insurance company? Maybe let them know you might need another card if a few more days pass
if they are a legit company they should help you through it.

(14,982 posts)It probably won't come as a surprise, but the outsourced COBRA company is a runaround nightmare. Just setting it up for enrollment was days of calling.
I'm hoping it'll be okay.

I'm so sorry you are having go contend with this bs!
Can't your lawyer do it?
XanaDUer2
(14,982 posts)Hes a great lawyer. But anything to do with the LTD he would have to handle as a separate case. The office is kinda weird. My psychiatrist, who knows my attorney, told me to check with the attorney before turning over SS records. So, I called to ask, and they wouldn't answer.
I know they're very busy. They're usually pretty good. My case is under reconsideration status, but I expect a turndown again, and then a hearing

Hang in there. It will all be over before you know it!

You're not an idiot for forgetting some silly detail on all these ridiculous forms; it would be incredible NOT to do so.
Don't be so hard on yourself, and hang in there.

(14,982 posts)I really should have filled out the certified mail card properly. The clerk there, the good one, always reminds me. I got the other one last week.
I wish I could relax. I really have to chill.

(23,112 posts)Plus, I don't know the details of your situation but maybe check out Google for some advocacy groups.
I don't know what type of disability you have but I have been on SSD for years and trust me, years ago they tried so hard to kick me off. I finally got an advocate and it made life so much easier.
I'm even thinking maybe a woman's shelter or even a homeless shelter have people around to help others with paperwork. I know it can make me nuts and it seems to get worse each year.
But for now know that I am sending good thoughts to you and that you will get through this.

He is perfectly willing to fill out the paperwork and all I need to do is get the office notes from my orthopedic surgeon.
My case is fairly cut and dried so it's not even that difficult for him. My surgeon says I need a joint replacement and that's all there is to it. I've had four since 2017 with one more to go. I'm pissed that my last primary care nurse practitioner made it a pain in the ass.

(14,982 posts)My doctors are good about filling out the forms. I was surprised because we did it during a session. So, he was being paid during it.

(2,967 posts)The paperwork sucks, I know. Dont get ahead of your brain. I was told by counseling. If you did the paperwork and sent it on time, thats all you can control. I do the same thing all the time and it is hard to slow yourself down. I still do it.
The mail will more than likely get there. If it doesnt, you have records that you sent on time. YOU have done exactly what you were asked to do. The 100 dollar thing kinda sucks as you already paid for a visit. Hmmm. Hang in there, dont let the what ifs in your head over ride the I did what was asked
