it is still completely numb and braced. I am still zonked out of my mind from all the meds. Now, the healing part begins. And, remember, I do not do pain. So, I feel so sorry for my beloved hubby.

(6,992 posts)Which is why I find the docs comments about 'addiction' concerns funny. Trust me doc, every time I am given those things they usually last like 6-8 months, not 30 days.

(161,299 posts)I was prescribed Vicodin once and it made me very sick indeed, was too strong
I do prefer the Tylenol with codeine though, much milder.

(2,234 posts)Fractured my shoulder on May 4. Didnt heal right, so had open reduction and fixation surgery (plates and screws) on June 1. Six weeks in an abduction sling. Ten weeks of no sleep.
Im 12 weeks post op today, deep into physical therapy, and progressing well, but it is a long fucking road. You have my support and sympathy. I wouldnt wish this on anyone.
