I make a point of having errands to do afterward so I can focus on other things before going home. I usually go about an hour after I get home but I don't always need a nap by then. But I started doing that because I wanted to stop going home and taking a nap.

It takes a lot to address old stuff, some days I'm a wreck when I come out. That's when I take a little drive to a peaceful spot for a little meditation.

Maybe give the kitties a few minutes and quietly sneak your way to the napping spot and go for it, that's what they do, they'll get it and join you, all will be well.

It allows you to process and consolidate the therapy without distraction.

You should feel exhausted. Your emotional wounds are being healed.
As with any wound, the initial treatment is the worst.
