I finally decided to try it the other day since I was feeling particularly down. It did not go well. I would not recommend using it.

I truly hope the day comes (soon) that people stop judging others on any basis other than the "content of their character". Keep your head up vercetti2021. Continue to be yourself. You are a valuable human being.

I've seen posts of yours where you seem far more positive and even happy with life as it is for you right now. So, I'm left wondering if something has happened recently.

It might help to know that there are cycles here where many groups have felt singled out by the community--women here underwent such an aggressive episode of misogyny some years ago that it led to the development of at least three (and once four) feminist forums to try to organize to fight back. It helped. Similarly, you see now that some of our Jewish colleagues are feeling as though some of DU is not being adequately sensitive at a time when worldwide (and national) episodes of antisemitism are at their worst. They too are trying to combat that. We periodically have the community most concerned with the disabled and ADA issues expressing their concern that DU is not sufficiently sensitive to their needs and concerns or posting inappropriate comments (as is common with the "R" word thrown about toward RWers). Similarly, there seems to be a very active and aware LGBTQ community--as well as all who support them here--and it seems to me that most of DU does.

You are not alone. Please reach out to some of the suggested resources if you are feeling continually depressed. It is a New Year and I hope that all can find some room for positivity, no matter what the prior year's disappointments.

it’s prolly gonna b another shitty yr for me. my 3 dogs r my ppl, and right now 2 of them r at each other’s throats. my kids, my sibs, they’ve got no use for me. i’ve tried to figure out how to fix that crap, but i got nuthin.

but i’ll say this 1 more time for u- i have a big, mostly empty house. u have a safe place to land if u decide to escape tx. you’d love chicago.
