Related: About this forumI was feeling pretty good, this morning. Then I checked on 'current events'
Yesterday was a struggle but I regrouped, this morning, and actually left the house to run some errands and finished some chores around the house.
Then I experienced quite a slam back to reality. Another school shooting. More examples of tfg's greedy, malevolent behavior.
I hope I'm wrong but I have a bad, bad feeling about this year.

(17,436 posts)it's been overcast and gloomy for weeks.
Occassional glimpses of sunshine, but nothing lasting. Downright miserable.

(92,705 posts)Are a hard blow each time. The year is off to a murky start but I am hopeful about the future. Besides, there was a 1/4 moon in the last day, those always add to anxiety.
Cheer up, or try, to imagine that it will get better and that, regardless of what you hear or see on a screen, it may or may not have been enhanced for your emotional response in one way or another. The way information is fed to us doesn't help.
Visualize the better future that can be so you can see how to get there. We all need to do that now as we will find a lot of interests trying to manipulate us into despair. If you can engage in visualization of some kind, it could help you get past the rough spots. Of all the methods of relief I use, I often end up having to visualize my way out of it to find peace of mind.
