Btw, my partner supports my moving forward into phase 2, but friends and relatives don't. They don't have tmj, they don't understand and think its a "couple of crowns". Its not. Its a ton of work. Once my back molars meet, my front teeth won't. And I'll need lenghthening to not look weird.

I just want to hear I'm okay and can move forward

One of my daughters is a dental hygienist, and a close friend from church is an oral surgeon. I've had lots of work done over the years in many dental offices, and the quality of each has always been top notch. You will receive the best of care.

And the dentist does pro bono work through his church. My relatives act like he's some money-grubbing scumbag. I tried explaining that tmj is a real, complex problem. My nut sister says get a pillow to fix it. As if.

As our esteemed and beloved DUer Skittles once said: “someone’s always here.” I’d humbly add: “…for you.”

i’ve had so much work done in the last 4 yrs. it cost me $10k in 20. thought i was insured, but wasnt.
i just had the 1st fitting for the last bit- new molars. i’ve got no top molars atm, and man will i b happy to chew again. pretty sure it’s not a coincidence that i’m having bad gut issues rn.
i hate teeth. they’re so stupid. they shd either heal, like the rest of the body, or we shd get more than 2 sets. i’m my father’s daughter in almost every way, but i got my mom’s teeth. he had his 1st filling at 60. he had a perfect smile. they were white despite a 3 pack a day habit.
my mom lost the last of hers at 50. course, she’s the 1 that had 7 babies, but still. she suffered w dentures almost half her life.

it helps that my dentist is adorable. father and son practice. stayed w pops for decades cuz i had a crush. lol. got bumped to the son, something that i discovered in quite hilarious fashion.
pops is an irish history buff. gonna grab him for the weekly irish singalong at the brewpub down the block some tuesday soon.
