Mental Health Support
Related: About this forumI've been doing so good, until today
My anxiety really ramping up is a combo of the debate, fear about the election and its aftermath, and my upcoming appointment at Oak Street to see the 5th practitioner in 4 years. This might be more of a showdown than an appointment if this NP is as callous as the APN I'd seen previously. Hopefully he will both hear to AND listen me because I'm tired of being made to feel that my mental health issues are frivolous and inconvenient. The following week I see my therapist so we might have something new to talk about.
Meanwhile I'm waiting for my Rx refills, although one of them was not on the list. It's a 'take as needed' for anxiety (like RIGHT NOW) but I have cut some of them in half so I have enough for now. I am going to request that refill. The next two months are going to be days full of worry, fear and anxiety, and nights full of brain-spin.
For now, Arthur is giving me purr therapy and Madoc reminds me how much he loves me by pulling my hand towards his teeth so he can give me a 'love nibble'. Either that or he's testing me for seasonings. Such sweet brothers.

That said, and also that I have no credentials in any kind of health care, my go-to is the serenity prayer, just as a reminder that I'm not in charge of the universe. After almost 30 years of sobriety, I still say that prayer every day.
Just my two cents.
