Light boxes anyone?

I have been told by my psychiatrist that light boxes can help with seasonal affective disorder. I know that my moods are worse in the winter and that this is probably due to the shortened and colder days. But, I do not want to shell out a bunch of money for something that does not work.

So, has anyone tried this?

Thanks.
