I'm starting one of the most stressful days of my life in the best possible way

My little Merlin is curled up on my shoulder and is giving me a wonderful snuggle.

My anxiety is already revving up so I won't be watching ANY news shows. I'm planning to fully rely on DU for any updates. Hopefully all holds up. If not, I'll switch to Face Book.

Today I'll be taking a full dose of my anxiety medication and hope it does the trick of tossing me in to nap mode, this afternoon. Truth is, if I didn't have the kid cats to care for, I'd probably still be in bed with today's medication doses and a glass of water right next to the bed.

Now I'll make something for breakfast, before my appetite disappears. I'll be checking in on this forum throughout the day and night.

Let us all vibe for the best and keep our energy in the positive zone.

My plan for the most part sans the kitties. I do have my weekly appointment with my therapist this morning, though. That should be helpful. And I have to do my grocery shopping, that's a good distraction for a little while.

Schools are always closed on Election Day here. They’re 6 and 10 so they mostly entertain themselves. I plan on binge-watching Bob’s Burgers most of the day. Nice dinner planned, then (ugh) MSNBC awaits. Please please please dear god, 2016 cannot happen again.

3. The big reason I won't tune in to MSNBC, which is the news channel I watch, is Steve Kornacki

I'm sure he's a lovely and knowledgeable guy but his frenetic presentation performances come across, to me, like nails on a chalkboard. I know a lot of people enjoy him so I guess it's just a quirk on my part.

I just keep thinking about how we all started 2016 upbeat and confident. At least I’m retired now so I won’t be sitting at my desk crying like I did then.

6. All I can think of is putting an e-collar (doggy training shock collar) on him---or sedative-filled darts.

I realized my shoulders were up around my ears and I couldn’t concentrate on anything, so decided it was Xanax time even though it’s earlier than I planned. This is going to be a long day.
