Music helps, especially that which we can sing along with.

Years ago I was active in a lay group called Recovery Inc.
One of their mottos was "Feelings are not facts."
I interpret that to mean - your or my feelings re "ugly world" is not necessarily objectively true.
We can change our feelings even though the objective situations - Palestinian children, dog torturer-killer- are factual.

I don't mean to sound like what you're feeling is not painful. It certainly is and it's very difficult at times to get past the hurt.
You sound as though you haven't lost hope, and that's what most important.

Try "Tomorrow" from "Annie", and belt it out.
