got a bit miffed with my head doc the other day

went in for my quarterly med check and scored myself much lower on the intake questionnaire than i normally do. i explained to him about how everything came crashing down the beginning of last month and that i'm still very much grieving over my fat cat. he asked me if the grief was related to a deeper loss and i told him that it wasn't, it was over my loss of her. well, he told me he thought the grief was deeper and longer lasting than it should be..........

..............................

.........................................................................

i told him very firmly that grief is a very personal thing with no timetable and that i will grieve for as long as i do because she was a beloved friend and a member of my family. at least he didn't want to up my meds, which was something i was dead set against.

i also told my therapist about you guys yesterday and how much you've helped me. i know i say this a lot, but it's always worth repeating - i love and appreciate you guys very much.

Deeper and longer than it should be???

Ouch. That is distinctly not therapeutic. Is it time for a new head doc, or can you do that?

He should know better!

We love and appreciate you very much, too...

i started seeing her when my marriage was to the point of disintegration early last year and she has been a godsend. she is the first therapist i've ever clicked with and she thought it completely normal that i spent our entire session a few weeks ago talking about fat cat.

I am actually doing OK. I seem to break down and bawl once or twice daily, and then I go on my way. Of course, he's in my thoughts a lot, but that's always been true.

Thanks for asking, sweetie...

doesn't sound therapeutic to me, should be more like, 'Oh, I see, I'm sorry to hear that. Tell me about your relationship with Ms. Fat Cat.'

" and you are ? " don't take your experience with the doc personally because pill docs are unfortunately very clueless about who their paitents are .Our pets are our loves in very deep ways that can't be disqualified .
