Presidential election causing stress and depression

for me? Anyone else? Not only is the field of Republican candidates truly frightening, the open bigotry and hatred Trump has stirred up among his minions is just SO DEPRESSING. I can't believe there are SO MANY Americans feel this way in 2015.

Listen to music. Read. Go out with friends. Insist that any conversation about politics is off limits for a while.

I think when it comes down to a head to head match-up between the respective parties' nominees, it will be obvious to a majority of Americans what the sane choice is. I simply can't believe that we, as a society, are so far gone as to elect someone like Trump or Carson to the highest office in the land. I think any one of our current candidates is vastly superior to what the Republican base is throwing at us.

I stay away from the in-fighting here at DU. I like Bernie and that's who I'm going to vote for in my state's primary. I don't need to argue with anyone about that or try to convince supporters of other candidates to see things my way. And, like I said, I'll be happy with any of our current candidates being the nominee.

All you can do is vote and support your candidate, Tex. Other than that, it's all out of your hands. Take it easy and don't get too wrapped up in it all.
