Repost from the lounge ( in regard to suicide)

A recent OP here got me thinking..

http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1018&pid=833495

It only takes a few mins for someone emotionally impaired to commit suicide. Maybe less.

To whomever know someone who is literally suicidal, short of spelling it to you: either watch them 24/7 or get them help.

They will thank you when they can see things clearly again.

(I've been in that dark place, but I never considered "suicide" because I knew I wasn't thinking straight ATM)

Please don't wait.

If someone wants to end their life, they will do it . dont wait.

and these days sending the cops, especially not knowing how the local cops are, is something a lot of people are uncomfortable with. we really need a separate unit for mental health issues. so few cops really know what to do.

it doesnt sound to me like the lady in the post would do it. she is so invested in her husband. i know that my thoughts for my kids made it impossible for me to do it.
