Mental Health Support
Related: About this forumjust a note to fellow group members
The election of Trump really upset and depressed me, to the point where if I read too much political stuff, I get angry and depressed all over again. I'm hopeful I can get past that stage sooner rather than later.
At any rate, I haven't been here much lately. I check my group admin duties once a day for other groups, read a few things, and leave.
My good wishes and support remains for all of you. I'll be back a lot more eventually.

(152,099 posts)This has been a very ugly time for our country and for us.
I'm not worried for myself personally, but I am very upset when I contemplate all the heinous things that will be done to our fellow citizens if the R's get their way.
I am spending more time on my non-political sites. My mental health requires it.

(38,935 posts)Environment & Energy is a more typical forum for me (where I'm NOT one of the optimists) but in this Trump Bizarro World it seems a much darker place. Trump and the Republicans simply don't care about any of the things I care about.

(3,702 posts)Everyday seems like a new low...I can't even focus my outrage on any one thing.
I am a happy depressed person if that makes sense - I usually have a shit ton of optimism no matter how bad things are, but I got nothing. I have been through some serious crap (like many of us) and I can usually find a silver lining or something to help me through.
But not this time, the first time I have ever not been able to be the one looking on the brightside - I feel broken. Take care of yourself Steve and everyone else, please do the same.
