Nothing of you
Yet something shoves you
To your knees
In this dark and spiraling place
Tells you get up
You protest, a fuck up
Your knees feel pain
A burning sidewalk in rain
The grass still grows through
Despite the yellowed hue
And who are you?
Do you stand again?
Do you crawl and wallow?
Do you force this pain
Breakthrough and swallow?
You pretend you give up
But you're not a fuck up
Protest the sidewalks fire
Rise again, even if, to fall from higher
You get up
Above it all
Despite everything
Despite.

It clearly shows your conflict and your pain. It also shows your determination.

Love the ending, the single word.

I've written poetry too, about my losses and pain. Maybe I'll post something sometime.

Keep writing!
