Kansas Governor Tours to Celebrate Ending Abortions After the First Trimester

Kansas Governor Sam Brownback isnt the first governor to sign a highly unconstitutional abortion ban into law.
He may, however, be the first one to go on tour to celebrate.
The recent passage of a ban on D&E abortions, a procedure used for nearly all abortions after the first trimester, is a precedent setting victory, and Kansas is the first to sign the law. But when the Republican governor and extreme abortion opponent signed his legislation, he did it in a small, closed door meeting with just a mere handful of anti-abortion activists. Now, to celebrate the ban and the inevitable lawsuit that will follow, hes touring the state, re-enacting his bill signing.
Gov. Sam Brownback plans to have four ceremonies across Kansas to re-enact his signing of the nations first ban on a procedure that critics describe as dismembering a fetus, reports Fox News 4 Kansas City. The Republican governors events Tuesday are at a Catholic church education building in Lenexa and Catholic high schools in Pittsburg, Wichita and Hays.
The use of Catholic churches and schools as his venues seem fitting, since the ban itself is a fairly blatant pander to the religious right. As bill supporters made it clear during the debate, the real goal was to end the filthy practice of abortion, and the ban on nearly all post-first trimester abortions is simply the available first step in the process.
That was exactly the message he sent as he did his first re-signing. To dismember a child at any point of its life is a gruesome thing, he said, before invoking so-called partial birth abortion and alluding that the two procedures were in essence the same thing. The American public will not stand for children being torn apart.

How disgustibg that an elected official would take a celebratory tour to commemorate his disrespect and apathy towards women's health.
