Smoking Cessation
Related: About this forumHas anyone here tried the Easyway method of stopping smoking?
It was recommended to me years ago, but I of course just ignored it.
It gets incredibly positive reviews. There is a book or you can opt for a webinar or seminar.
I have just started the book and I am feeling pretty positive, which is not what I ever expect when I start to think about stopping.
It's the kind of "stick it to the man" philosophy that really is appealing to me.
Anyone have any experience?

(54,770 posts)together. Not sure Easyway was around 20 years ago. It might well be the secret of success for you.
Good luck. It's tough, but it does feel good to kick it to the curb.

(2,435 posts)Hoyt is onto a way to quit smoking that has working for a great many people. If you want the book - you can find it on Amazon for 10 bucks and change

there is also (of course) and iPad - iPhone app of an audio version of the book.
No one who has listened for years about how hard it is to quit - will believe that it is more myth than real - until you get the facts from the book and start to believe that you want this and can do this and ain't nothing going to stop you.
I've been a non-smoker for three years. I've never looked back.
You got this!

(146,218 posts)It has been over a month now, after a 37 year habit. The book is like nothing else I have ever seen and I don't think that I will ever smoke again.
Not that it is always easy. I still have a rough time, particularly when I am around smokers, but the thought of picking one up is not even an option for me.
Thanks for the input!
and the minute I put the book down I had smoked my last cigarette and have been a happy non-smoker for 3 years and a month!

(146,218 posts)I also smoked my last cigarette while reading the last chapter. I doused the pack I had left with water and I was done.
It's only been 2 ½ weeks for me, but I'm feeling really positive about it. This is the first approach that has ever worked for me and I am so glad that I didn't go the nicotine substitute route.

(1 post)Thank you for the giving me an opportunity to submit an suggestion here in this discussion, People who want to make a change often are more successful when they put their goal in writing. Write down all the reasons why you want to quit smoking, like the money you'll save or the stamina you'll gain for playing sports. Keep that list where you can see it. Add new reasons as you think of them.
