Thought I would share this -- I found a great product almost by accident, just going through a grocery store and it caught my eye with the name.
Pasta Zero by Nasoya. It is a shirataki noodle - made from tofu and other stuff. It has only 40 calories in a package, which is 1 1/3 cups. It has a strange odor out of the package, but you rinse it and that goes away. Very neutral flavor, slightly softer than semolina pasta.
If you are a pasta lover like I am, this product is a big leap forward in low-cal pasta.

(6,581 posts)Meijer, which is a regional "big box" chain, carries it, as does Whole Foods. It's refrigerated, btw, so look in the refrigerated case where they have the Asian products, because everything else this company makes is along the lines of tofu, egg roll and wanton wrappers, etc.

(2,312 posts)Just slice using your vegetable peeler or, even better, get a julienne peeler. It's perfect.

(2,312 posts)I barely cook it...just saute for a minute or two. I've used it as spaghetti, lasagna (by cutting wide strips with my potato peeler), and even as lo mein, which is my favorite.

(29,100 posts)Less carbs and fewer calories and no soy....They are made from veg fiber. I have heard you can get them at Whole Foods but I just get a monthly shipment direct. I love the "rice" and angle hair.

I eat them pretty much every day in bouillion with a hit of Sri Racha and some spinach and green onion
