Back in Mid April I started the alternate day fasting routine. This is a status report.

I started off at 193. I am now 170. I could go lower, but I think a BMI of 26.5 is acceptable.

I have noticed that when I am on my feet for a long time, I no longer have lower back pain and "burning" ankles. I feel so much better about myself. I have much more energy. My wife likes the change. A couple weeks ago I went off the every other day fast, now I fast on Monday and Thursday. The weight loss is holding.

Tomorrow I will buy a new, smaller belt.

Alternate day fasting is actually calorie restricted days. On your fast day you eat one meal only. The meal should be around 500 cals for women, 600 cals for men. On the non fast days, you eat normally. There's a lot of good info on this technique. The best source is Michael Mosley http://www.kpbs.org/news/2013/apr/02/eat-fast-and-live-longer-michael-mosley/

It is about more than just weight loss.
