Weight Loss/Maintenance
Related: About this forumMy weight loss journey...
Some here will recall, I had weight loss surgery on April 1 of this past year. My progress has been simply amazing, to me anyway..lol. My first self imposed goal was to get out of plus sized clothes...check. Number two was to lose 100 pounds...check. My third goal was to get under 200 pounds..as of this morning.. CHECK!!!!
I was hoping to get there by New Years, but heck less than a week off, I'll take it. As of today I've lost 115 pounds and feel great!
I haven't yet decided whether to set any more goals or just go with the flow from here on out, I don't want to set myself up for failure after coming so far. I just had to tell everyone. I AM SO HAPPY!!!

(3,718 posts)I have had friends who have undergone this surgery and it has been successful for them as well. So glad the process is going well for you... you have certainly met many milestones already. Setting goals is always a good thing, just be certain they are realistic... and small goals are easier than the big ones.
You should be happy... you've done great!!
Good luck!!

(17,257 posts)I too have lost a tremendous amount of weight (with the help of surgery). I've been told I took the easy way out. Sit with me for an hour and I'll tell you JUST how NOT easy it's been.
I wouldn't change it for the world though
I went from 302 to 136 this morning. Surgery was extremely radical. Biliopancreatic Diversion with a Duodenal Switch.
I had surgery in 2005. Have never gained an ounce throughout the journey.

(15,194 posts)I'm a bit over a year out from my bypass and have lost 90 pounds. I'm hoping to lose a bit more after I get my blood-sugar issues ironed out.

(34 posts)That's amazing, well done! I've also set my self goals for this year, to get healthy and fit! I'm going to try a new diet and hopefully stick with it. Maybe even exercise...
