Weight Loss/Maintenance
Related: About this forumWow - approaching mid Feb - how is everyone doing?
I am now into the second year of getting my weight under control - and in the middle of a 28 day vegan challenge. Doing fine, learning a lot of good hints and tips.
Ask me anything...and here's hoping you are all doing OK.

(49,314 posts)we started our changes March 1 2010 with the goal of each losing 50#
me 174# goal of 125#
hubby 245# goal of 195#
i'm at 132, he's bounced up a bit but is at 204. he's struggling staying below 200, i'm still losing 1/4 to 1/2 pound a week, every week. i never saw fast weight loss and for about 8 months didn't even see steady weight loss (stuck at about 145 it seemed like FOREVER) so I'm a happy camper.
i am eating most anything i want, just watching portions closely and being mindful of staying on a healthy diet 90% of the time.
so life is good!

(60,531 posts)I was at 258 on Jan 24 2011....today weighed in at 204.5. The first 50 came off pretty quickly and easily (Weight Watchers). Doing a 28 day Vegan challenge diet (Engine 2) now, added working out three days/week.....aim is to get to 184 if possible (healthy BMI for a 6 footer like me) - but I am happy to be where I am....and will get the rest off gradually!
Keep up the wonderful work! You must feel great!

(49,314 posts)that's how it came off hubby too, me not so much LOL
but i'm glad, i don't have any of that loose dangly skin, my body had time to tighten up as the weight came off
we worked out like mad people, P90x, Chalean Extreme etc, now we just do Jillian Micheal's 20 minutes 3x a week to maintain

(20,234 posts)A year ago I was between 160 and 170. Jan 1, 2012 I was 135. Today: 131, which I honestly never thought I'd see again.
I'm still doing the 4hour body low carb thing, 6 days on, 1 day anything goes.

(17,257 posts)I KNOW I'm not really gaining though. I'm having trouble eating right these last few weeks because of an ongoing health issue (explains why I've not been here much).
When I don't get enough protein and water I retain fluid and my ankles swell etc.
Once I'm back on track with my protein and vitamins I'll return to normal weight again.
Thanks for checking in on us and helping out with the group NRaleighLib!
