Weight Loss/Maintenance
Related: About this forumWeek 12 of 6/18 fast diet.
Lost 18 lbs, first time in 20 years under 200lbs. BMI is today at 25, normal, healthy weight for my height. No longer need statin drugs or blood pressure drug. Had to buy new jeans as those 36 inch waist ones were falling off.
Started on the 2/5 day fast. It was doable but not fun. 6/18 is a piece of cake. Try to have last meal of day between 4 and 5 pm. Eat first meal 8 to 9 am. Tried different times and this works best for me. Every week it gets easier and easier.
Well worth taking a look at it cost nothing, save money and feel great.

Heck, I don't even know the questions to ask -- but I'd like to know the details of your plan. Thanks.

(34,126 posts)8 hours of normal eating and 16 hours of fasting, tea, coffee and water only. Most people loose weight on it but I'm mostly trying to get healthy. The best place to start is by watching the one hour documentary by the BBC called Eat, Fast, live and can be seen on YouTube.

(34,126 posts)In your liver hormon glucose growth regulated. Seem that when fast, the body switches to using accumulated fat for regulating where your energy for cell building comes from. So it gets rid of that belly fat. After that happens, more energy goes to build muscle and repairing cells. According to the video, it can even go toward making new brain cells.

(21,961 posts)5/2. This may be the easiest "diet" I've ever been on. I am limiting my fasting days to 600 calories and my 5 days to 1600-2000. I don't eat ANYTHING after 6pm. I am hopeful that it will be the diet that will get me back on a healthy track.
I had a very bad stretch of stress which I used as an excuse to not eat healthy. After watching the Michael videos, I am eager to get similar results.
Good luck to all of you who are attempting the fasting diet.
