I am a WW Lifetime member who came back in 2013 to drop excess weight I had gained over the years. It took me 13 months from June 2013 to July 14 to lose 52 pounds. In those 4 years since coming back, I have been struggling with 6 pounds over goal. But I cannot complain because keeping the weight off is more important.
I have worked with the changes since then from Points Plus to Smart Points. The recent changes of certain foods now being 0 points include most Fish, water packed tuna, Tofu, Chicken and Turkey breasts, Eggs, most legumes, corn and peas, fresh fruits.
It will help to attend a Weight Watchers meeting to get caught up on the changes. The daily Smart Points is 23. That means other Protien sources, fats and oils, foods, etc., still have points values. The change I like is that I do eat a lot of fresh fish, tuna, and chicken. I feel more satisfied now. By tracking your Daily Points, what you have left, can be planned for the next day. You still also have 28 extra weekly Points to use for that ocassion coming up.
I track every day and plan my meals. I still allow myself a glass of wine or two, beer, even a dessert. I also exercise and try not to eat back thkse points, even though I can if I decide. The past 4 1/2 years I have been back, I have learned so much, eat better, enjoy life more, and can enjoy eating out without guilt. For most of the weight I have lost had been done eating out and making better choices.
Weight Watchers is jot a diet, but a lifestyle that works. I went from a size 18 slacks to a 10. XL tops to a Small-Medium. If I can do this at 65, anyone can with even better results. For what I spend on food is an investment into a quality of life that is priceless.
