AMAZING youtube vid, weight loss transformation via hooping (hula hooping!)

So inspring!!

My friend has lost 35 lbs doing this and it really is FUN! The trick is, you have to have a large & nicely weighted hoop, it makes it soooo much easier, not the little plastic ones from the toy dept.....but the good news is you can make them yourself out of PCV tubing if you like, or get one from Hoopnotica or any of the other fitness hoop makers.

They will not believe what she could do!

Do they have classes for that, or did your friend just pick it up from trying and watching?

I have to seriously lose some weight. I've started trying to eat healthier, but haven't gotten into an exercise routine yet with everything going on with end-of-the-year school, church, and work activities. I'm hoping my daughter and I can get a program in place and do it regularly throughout the summer.

bought a series of video tutorials from "hoopnotica" to keep it interesting and would master one move at a time - now she is a teacher at an exercise studio. Here is a segment from the hoopnotica lessons but there are also free hooping tutorials on the internet, once you learn the name of the moves you can look up things like "the vortex" or "chest hooping" and see it explained by different people.

The good thing about the hooping, it only needs one simple piece of equipment that you can hang on the wall -- then it's just needing a clear space in your house or yard, put some music on and go at it!

For her it is ever interesting because she takes hooping classes etc.....I pretty much can only waist & hip hoop and do a couple of over the head "lasso" type things but I am going to try to learn other stuff via youtube tutorials, but I'm so klutzy!! Just constantly dropping it and picking it up when attempting this stuff doesn't seem like that much exercise but I guess you have to go through some aggravation to get good at anything.

I had just hit puberty, and grew a gut along with the usual stuff. So I started hooping, and in a few weeks I was walking all over the farm while hooping. By the time school started back up in the fall, I had lost the tummy
It really works

That stuff like rolling it off her back? KLUNK!!! I wonder how many times she dropped it before making it look so damn easy, she kind of looks like a natural even at the beginning.
