Weight Loss/Maintenance
Related: About this forumI reached my WW goal today.
Even though I'm one pound away from my "official" goal, I was told that since I was within two pounds of it, today's weight counted.
Total loss, 22.8, been on plan since March 17.
This is my second time doing this, and I think I've learned a lot more about eating and have been able to apply the plan better to my life, so that now I think the weight will stay off for good.
Best wishes for everyone on their journeys toward goal....

(15,667 posts)As the queen of the yoyo dieters I have to mention -- maintenance is the hardest part and the part I always blow! So don't make my mistake and think you're done -- that was me last summer and in a blink of an eye most of the weight came back.
People who don't yoyo must find that strange, but all I can say is that mindful eating is a day to day thing and the race to goal makes it kind of exciting. Once at my goal weight I experience a bit of a letdown and decide to let my guard down, a couple of weeks turns into a couple of months and then a few months and BOOM wow how'd THAT happen? It's really an odd pattern/problem to have. Definitely one I would like to stop so counting on you to be a good influence on me
CONGRATS AGAIN!

(14,176 posts)When I was on WW back in the Stone Age, I lost about 40-some pounds. I managed to keep it off for a long time, and then...well, you know.
I never really bounced back weightwise after my last pregnancy (11 years ago). My weight just crept up on me, but I rationalized it away -- age, body change, etc. I also slipped back into a lot of bad habits. I really wasn't aware of how much I had gained back until this past winter, when I was again working and had to "dress up" everyday in things that I hadn't worn in a long time. My "dressier" clothes fit, but barely -- tight to almost-cutting-off-my-circulation tight. That, plus buying jeans and having to get a size that I hadn't seen in years was really depressing. One morning I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror, and that was finally it. I checked into WW in my area that very day and went to my first meeting that weekend.
I realize now that I am the type of person who has to be vigilant about tracking. I need the accountability. I think before I just stopped tracking because I was on maintenance and thought I knew what I was doing...but the pounds snuck back. Not this time. I'm also going to still go to the weekly meetings, at least for awhile. Although such gatherings really aren't my thing, I do get a lot out of them. I see it as another investment in my maintenance.
