Re LDS and ancestry.com
I have been a long-time member of ancestry.com.
I have entered much information regarding my ancestors and family, including my deceased brother and sister.
Just the other day I saw (on the connectivity section) that someone whom I had never communicated with before had copied my info on several close relatives.
As is my wont, I sent a note through ancestry.com inquiring of the relationship connection. I am very willing to share info, and have learned much of more distant relatives and ancestors through this communication.
I have had no response to my note as yet.
I tried to find a connection online, but could not discern any connection.
Tonight, I tried to trace the name of the member who had used my family's data through ancestry.com's search mechanism, and found out that the person (or someone with the same uncommon names) lives in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Then it struck me that perhaps my family members were copied to be used in the LDS practice of baptizing nonmembers after death.
I have nothing against LDS or its members, but would not want my family used in this manner.
What do DU members think is the possibility that this is the case?
Am I being paranoid?

I've had my own issues lately, with someone putting my aunt's information up there, claiming she is dead (they used my grandmother's dob & dod--why no one of these copy cats have seen that is beyond me), & so far teh only thing I can do is post on each tree "MY AUNT IS NOT DEAD"
So I finallly "added" her to my tree, under the name "MY AUNT IS NOT DEAD" so hopefully the copy catters will take notice.
Then there was the argument I had with some guy who claimed (on his tree) that my uncle was my mother's father & demanded I back up my claims with "proof." 
So I told him to look at my tree, then look at his dates & ask me how a 10 year old could marry a 35 year old AND father a child.
