Baked wonton wrapper cups with pork-cabbage mix as filling. It also has garlic, ginger, grated carrot, sesame seed, scallion.
I just cut the wrapper into two triangles and brush them with sesame oil before I put them in the silicone muffin pan. Then I fill each one and bake at 375. I spritz the tops a few times to keep them from drying out.
I serve with a couple Asian sauces--hoisin and also soy-garlic-sesame-ginger sauce.
To drink is peach kombucha.
Dessert will be white cake and cherries over the top. Caramel dandelion "decaf."

(22,882 posts)The First Mate is envious because she wanted to go with Asian cuisine tonight but changed her mind. Enjoy!
Were having a large mixed green salad with tomatoes, thinly sliced red onion rings and green olive slices with oil and vinegar, salt and pepper.
Boneless chicken breasts sliced into strips then egged and battered then fried Southern style, (which entails using some bacon grease). The sauce is tomato based has a half dozen spices, herbs and peppers in it.
Mashed potatoes with butter and chives.
Beers.
Were anchored in Shellbine Creek in SE Georgia. Tomorrow we will get to Florida!

(36,332 posts)We bought a new gas grill and I'm cooking on it for the first time. I've never cooked on a gas grill before, so I think it's best to manage expectations pretty closely, lol. It has IR emitters. I've got a flatiron steak warming up on the counter, some asparagus, dinner rolls, and a green salad. Wish me luck!

(36,332 posts)The grill gets seriously hot, so I misjudged the timing and had to take the steak back out to finish it. It was still pretty good despite the abuse. This was just a dry run, no smoke or seasoning on the meat beyond salt and pepper. I tossed the asparagus with olive oil and some salt and pepper, then wrapped them in a foil packet that I threw on the grill along with the steak, mostly on the indirect side of the grill. The asparagus was good too.
I also threw a couple ears of corn on the grates, turning them to develop a nice splotchy char. They looked good but were not the highlight of the meal. Their texture was about half way to seed corn, dry and starchy.
