I'm making this soup called "Minestrone di Fagioli Cannellini Scarola e Polpettine di Carne," or in English, cannellini bean, escarole, and meatball soup. I got the recipe from a cookbook put out by the Rome Sustainable Food Project. The title is "Zuppe," and it's published by the kitchens of the American Academy in Rome.
No chicken wings or any of that stuff for me tonight. I think I'll watch this movie on Amazon Prime called "Genius." It's about a friendship that developed between editor Maxwell Perkins and Thomas Wolfe.
OK, need a laugh? My brother, who is good with Thai food and carefully cultivates his lemongrass plant (so you know he's not a total idiot about cooking) told me he bought the Casey's special for the game. It's a combo of pizza and chicken wings. He told me he put it in his electric oven at 140 to stay warm. Oh, and he left it in the cardboard package. I about fell out of my chair. I said get home immediately and remove it! It will taste like cardboard!!

(22,882 posts)We went to an excellent seafood market in Jacksonville Beach, FL called Beachside Seafood. Its couple of blocks from the beach where we had a lovely afternoon walk. Downstairs is their market and upstairs is their restaurant. We opted for the market.
Appetizer
One dozen Virginia oysters, raw with lemon, horseradish and vinegar & onion dip.
Small green salad with ginger dressing.
Entree
Tuna sashimi with lemon, soy sauce and wasabi. Japanese rice with sesame seeds.
Dessert
Frozen mint custard from Whits. Best Ive ever had!
Like you, NJCher, were not watching the game nor eating pizza and wings! Enjoy the film. Its thought provoking.

Sorry to be disappointing, but I'd have left the pizza in the box, too.
