I stayed with my grand kids and grand dogs for 4 days

So I've been away from the kitchen and DU.

We ate like teenagers. My daughter and son-in-law left plenty of cooked food to heat up, and we ate dinner at Bob Evans Friday night.

I have a piece of salmon for tomorrow, planning to get back to adult food after the excesses of the last several days

Missed ya bunches!

They have two of our great grandchildren, five and four. They have four Pugs and we periodically visit them for a few days. We're heading there on Tuesday so the mom and dad can have a night out and an overnight stay in a nice hotel for Valentine's Day whilewe baby-sit and have a fun little Valentine's dinner with the kids.

In a few months we are moving there permanently. My grandson and his wife are having a manufactured home put on their property where we will live and rent it. I dread moving but I'm looking forward to living there. We're getting old and need to be close to family. We have two dogs and we are planning for chickens and maybe goats on their five acres.

3. It will be a downsize, but only the house, not the land.

Seven years ago we sold out 1,600 sq ft home and downsized to an 800 sq ft mobile home in a senior park. We have been happy here, but the kids and grandkids had careers that moved them away from us.. So now it will be 500 sq ft but at least a new home. We will peobably gift some of our furniture to some of our neighbors that have been so nice to us.

We made a few modifications to the floor plan so we can still have a king size bed, but the worst of it is a smaller kitchen. We both love to cook. We will have a storage shed close by where we can store kitchen equipment that is not used every day. Smaller does mean easier to maintain and clean, so there is that. I figure is we went from 1600 to 800, we can go from 800 to 500 sq ft. It also helps that we are both relatively small people. Any family gatherings and entertaining will be done in grandson's big house, so we don't need room for that. I think it will work out.

They are on the other side of Marietta, on the country side of town Always like a mini-vacation when stay. They have a flock of chickens, which I usually don't have to tend. (when you get your chickens and goats, make sure you have secure enclosures for them. In this area, we have to protect the chickens from foxes, coyotes, bobcats and hawks. I hope all of the dogs get along with them too)

It sounds like you have a good plan and lots to look forward too. Best wishes for an enjoyable move.
