I thought I'd post this a little early since some people might be barbecuing this afternoon.
I wanted to but found out my grill is out of propane, so since I'm afraid to hook up a new tank and light it, I'm going to forego BBQ.
Instead I'm having buttery cabbage and egg noodles with bacon-wrapped pork sausages. The pork sausages are being cooked very slowly over low heat. I love how they get so crispy that way.
The egg noodles are kinda' interesting--not your typical egg noodle. They are called spaetzle--"authentic Swabian egg noodles." they are thin and each about two inches long.
Strawberry shortcake for dessert along with Earl Grey tea.

We had two beautiful left-over grilled lamb chops. As were making an overnight passage up the Georgia coast, a meal-in-a-mug makes sense for the two of us. Besides, we had grilled cheeseburgers a couple of nights ago!
Its a pretty basic mix of meat, chopped carrots, chunked potatoes, chopped celery and onion with a beef bouillon broth thickened with flour. Add a few spices and stir occasionally.
Itll taste yummy in the late night as we sail north! Ill need coffee, too, of course.

The RG wouldn't say that. He would have lamb on Christmas, New Year's, Easter, Memorial Day, and the Fourth of July.
Oh, and his birthday, too.
Anyway, sounds like good comfort food and oh, uh, the RG is on the Georgia coast right now. Hmmmm......

(10,645 posts)had some leftover mole poblano paste, and some ribs, so I stripped the meat off the bones, used them to make a stock, and them added it to thin out the mole paste. Sauteed up some onions and added the pork meat, the mole and some sauteed onions.
Had some of the leftover asparagus/tomato/olive farinata and rice as sides - I'd add a picture of the former if I knew how
