Unfortunately, I need to buy a couple of ingredients for the main attraction, which means that I need a shower and fresh clothes for the outing, which in turn means I'll need to fold the laundry that's sitting in the dryer, and just like that the day is shot. I might not be able to make dinner until tomorrow.

(I'm good at this shortcut stuff.)

Just take the clothes out of the dryer that you need. Have a quick shower. If feasible, get delivery on the ingredients by using one of those services that brings the order to you in the car.

Go home, make dinner, and have a lovely summer evening with your wife.

Today's Farmers Market excursion provided tomatoes and some romaine lettuce to have on the nachos. Also got a pint of sour cherries. There aren't enough for a pie but they will make a nice crisp for the three of us.

I also got a huge bag of collard greens, which I washed, stemmed, chopped, blanched and froze. Yield: three bags with about a cup and a half in each

with some friends. We brought farinata, a Mediterranean flatbread made with chickpea flour - this version had red onions, tomatoes, and olives as well. It's vegan, and this version omits a lot of the more common food allergies and sensitivities as well - plus it can be eaten hot out of the oven or at room temperature.

It has a low glycemic level. Was delicious. I intend to try more dishes with chickpea flour.
