Shrimpburger. Made my own sauce with toasted sesame oil, mayo, ginger, and sriracha. Lettuce, tomato, raw onion.
on edit: forgot to add that I cooked up a few sweet potato fries in the air fryer. I also cooked the shrimpburger this way. The air fryer is terrific in hot weather. We are at 89 now.
Corn salad. Has chopped peppers, onion, and spicy dessing.
Served over bed of ruffly lettuce.
Cherry kombucha.
Frozen coconut bar and iced decaf for dessert.

(18,088 posts)They have a lot of meat which I normally see on what they call country style ribs.
They spent a couple of days in brine that also had red pepper flakes and garlic powder.
Baked them slow over water and covered at 225 F for approximately 3 hours and then uncovered and slathered with tomato based BBQ sauce on both sides for about an hour. Finally a few minutes under the broiler and a slight char on the sauce made them so good.
Boiled corn on the cob that was 19 cents per ear on a Kroger special. It is yellow with some white mixed in and is the best sweet corn I've had this year.
Some mustard potato salad from the store, it is OK, but nothing to write home about.
Dessert will likely be another ear of corn.

(15,011 posts)Recipe calls for white wine and heavy cream so it should be good and nice and healthy!
Most likely will also make homemade mashed potatoes and a salad.
Spaghetti with a thick and meaty sauce.
Caesar salad.
Tea and cookies.
Were anchored off the Cape May Canal.

(29,390 posts)I let this one grow a little bit longer than the first one we ate. We have more NJCher squash almost as large as this one.
NJCher
(37,743 posts)Did you plant multiple seeds? Any chance you planted some that will bear the yellow squash?
Emile
(29,390 posts)it was just starting to turn yellow. Do you think it is a yellow squash? The first one I picked was smaller and even more green, but it tasted great.
Emile
(29,390 posts)of squash and the first two plants are NJCher squash, anyways that's what we call them. If I give any away I will tell them it's hard to find this strain, LOL.
maybe if you have space, you should try a couple other seeds from that envelope with the hope you'll get a "yellow." This squash you've gotten is just as good, though.
The yellow is unusual. I post on numerous garden forums and on one I differentiated this squash from a spaghetti and the poster was so happy.
Squash has a short growing season, so you'll get a return on those extra plants.

(1,760 posts)veal chops with a pan sauce that had shallots and garlic, heavy cream and the Chardonnay that we had with dinner. Sides were cheesy grits and cooked carrots with butter, grapefruit juice and brown sugar. As a newish cook, he gets pretty stressed getting everything to be ready together, but he's doing better all the time.
